What the platform had to solve

A distributed solar portfolio is an analytics problem before it is an energy problem. Generation is spread across thousands of installations on customer rooftops and sites, each producing continuous data over connections nobody controls. Raw output figures mean little on their own — performance only becomes actionable when measured against what the asset should have produced, and when that comparison is available to the operations teams and the corporate customers who are buying the power.

Generation data at portfolio scale

Thousands of installations producing continuous readings adds up to a volume where ingestion design, aggregation strategy and retention policy decide whether the platform is useful or merely expensive.

Output only means something in context

A kilowatt-hour figure is not performance. Performance is that figure against expected generation for the conditions, which makes the analytics layer the actual product rather than the reporting surface on top of it.

Assets sit on other people's sites

Installations are on customer rooftops and premises, so connectivity, access and network conditions vary per site and cannot be standardised the way an owned facility could be.

Several audiences, one dataset

Operations teams, asset managers and the corporate customers buying the power each need a different view of the same generation data, at different levels of detail.
